He believes that the right to vote is both sacred and exclusive to U.S. citizens who are legal residents of Colorado. Guided by fairness and respect for the rule of law, J.J. will work tirelessly to safeguard the voting process—ensuring that only eligible Colorado and U.S. citizens participate, every lawful vote is counted, and every election outcome reflects the will of the people. Recognizing that some election laws are determined by the legislature, he will collaborate with lawmakers, local officials, and citizens to uphold and strengthen practices that enhance security, accuracy, and public trust. His mission is simple: to make sure Colorado’s elections serve the people—openly, honestly, and responsibly.

From his early involvement in politics supporting Ronald Reagan to his leadership roles in community, business, and education, J.J. has consistently championed limited government, individual liberty, and personal responsibility. Known for his integrity and perseverance, he remains committed to promoting transparency, protecting election integrity, and ensuring Colorado’s government serves its citizens with honesty and accountability.

With over 25 years of experience helping businesses thrive, J.J. brings real-world expertise to the Secretary of State’s office. He has: Advised over 85 businesses on regulatory compliance and growth strategies, streamlined operations to save companies tens of millions in unnecessary costs
As Secretary of State, J.J. will apply this same efficiency mindset to: Simplify business registration and licensing processes, reduce bureaucratic red tape that stifles entrepreneurship

He will apply that practical experience to make Colorado’s business environment more efficient, transparent, and supportive of hard-working families and small businesses. That same leadership will guide policies that secure a responsible AI future for Colorado—encouraging innovation, protecting workers, strengthening small businesses, and ensuring that emerging technologies create jobs, respect privacy, and keep economic opportunity and data anchored in Colorado.
Over 20-Years as Homeschool Parent
As a devoted father who has homeschooled his children for more than 20 years, J.J. brings firsthand experience to the defense of parental rights, educational freedom, and family-centered learning. Long before homeschooling his own children, J.J. believed deeply in local control over centralized mandates, responsible stewardship of resources, and the importance of protecting family values and civic responsibility. Homeschooling provided the opportunity to live out and apply those principles in daily practice.
Beyond his own family, J.J. has been an active leader within the homeschool community. He has mentored dozens of homeschool families, helped parents navigate educational choices, and consistently advocated for educational freedom and parental authority. He has also taught biblical principles of government and citizenship, along with the U.S. Constitution, equipping families to raise informed, engaged, and responsible citizens.
This long-term commitment informs J.J.’s policy approach: empowering parents, protecting family values, supporting educational choice, and strengthening grassroots, community-based solutions that serve hard-working families without unnecessary bureaucracy or one-size-fits-all mandates.
